Breaking News: Basketball Sub-State brackets released

The 6A KSHAA Basketball Sub-State brackets were released for the boys and girls at 10 a.m. today. Sub state will take place from Feb. 28 to March 4. The winners of the eight sub state brackets will advance to the state tournament at Wichita State University-Koch Arena from March 8-11. The East boys and girls teams play in the East division. 

The 11 seeded boys team will play in Sub-State #3 along with three seeded Olathe West, 14 seeded Gardner Edgerton and six seeded Shawnee Mission Northwest. East faces SMNW in the first round at SMNW at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28. The Lancers lost to SMNW 57-55 in their first matchup on Jan. 13. 

The 15 seeded girls team will play in Sub-State #2 with two seeded Blue Valley North, seven seeded Shawnee Mission Northwest and 10 seeded Olathe South. East faces BVN first round at BVN at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 29. This will be the first matchup between the Mustangs and the Lancers.
