The 6A Kansas State High School Activities Association Sub-State brackets for boys and girls basketball were released on Feb 24. The Sub-State tournament will begin on Feb. 27 and conclude with finals on March 1 for the girls team and March 2 for the boys team.The winners of the eight sub-state brackets will advance to the state tournament in Wichita. The East boys and girls teams were placed in the 6A East division bracket.
The 8th seed boys team will play in the Sub-State #1 along with 1st seed Shawnee Mission Northwest Cougars, 16th seed Wyandotte Bulldogs and 9th seed Shawnee Mission South Raiders. East will play Shawnee Mission South on Feb. 28. at SME at 7 p.m. The Lancers lost to the Raiders 32-31 on Feb. 23.
The 11th seed East girls team will play in the Sub-State #3 along with 3rd seed Olathe South, 14th seed Blue Valley West and 6th seed Blue Valley. The Lancers will play Blue Valley High School on Tuesday Feb. 27 at Blue Valley High School at 7 p.m. This is the first time the Lancers will play the Tigers this season.
