Breaking: East Confirms Homecoming Plans

East has confirmed there will not be a homecoming dance this year, however, a homecoming game is still scheduled for Oct. 15 at Shawnee Mission North where the crowning of royalty will also take place.

Homecoming king, queen and court crownings will happen during the game’s halftime, but only family members of the players and homecoming nominees will be allowed to attend in order to meet social distancing guidelines. The game will be broadcasted so students can watch from home.

According to the SME STUCO Instagram, @smestuco, nomination directions for the homecoming court will be sent out to all seniors through email Sept. 26.

The Harbinger will be hosting a live stream of the game through smeharbinger.net so those who cannot attend can watch from home. To be updated with changes regarding the homecoming elections, continue to check emails from the school and follow the SME STUCO Instagram.
