Bowling Season Updates: Team roster and COVID precautions

Despite the dangers of being indoors with COVID-19, the bowling team held tryouts from Nov. 30 to Dec. 4. As of now, the season is set to go on as scheduled with COVID-19 safety precautions in place.

The boys tried out on Monday and Tuesday, and the girls on Wednesday and Friday. Tryouts consisted of bowling three games each day, and were held at Olathe Mission Bowl — where this year’s team practices will be held

The bowlers are advised to bring their own hand sanitizer and required to wear masks at all times, along with staying six feet apart. They aren’t allowed to share their equipment with other teammates, and they can only bowl with the people in their designated lane to reduce exposure to others.

As another COVID-19 precaution, spectators are no longer allowed to watch the practices and meets to reduce the number of people in the building.

The team will start practice on Jan. 4, and their first tournament is on Jan. 12 against Gardener Edgerton and Olathe West at Mission Bowl.
