Bl(eh)oom: Staffer reviews Bloom Nutrition — a bitter tasting energy boosting powder made popular by TikTok

Scrolling through my For You page on TikTok, my screen was filled with reviews of Bloom Nutrition, an online company that sells pre-workout and health boosting supplements. I finally caved and bought my own supplement to see if it lives up to the hype.

Bloom Nutrition is said to help with bloating, smooth digestion and overall make you feel more energized, all the things that made me attracted to the product.

The website features different products — Green Superfood, pre-workout, vitamin and protein powders. I went with the 10-count packet of Green Superfood that would let me try two different flavors, amounting to $14.98. This seemed pretty expensive for just 10 packets compared to other supplements who have full containers for the same price as the ten packets.

I broke open the berry packet on day one, poured it into a cup of water and stirred. The grape popsicle smell oozed from the cup.

But after my first sip, the pungent tangy flavor didn’t match the sweet smell of the drink — I wasn’t particularly a fan. The pasty flavor was strong and since I didn’t have their $15 mixer accessory,   the texture was uncomfortable. It was a challenge to drink through the clumps of powder that refused to dissolve even after five minutes of stirring.

Still the drink had the chance of redemption if it still served its original purpose and boosted my energy while improving gut health (spoiler alert: it didn’t). I could feel my energy start to go up which overall helped my motivation. But as for gut health, I wasn’t impressed, still feeling noticeably bloated after meals.

By day six of using it, I learned to shake instead of stir the drink and the less-powdery texture made drinking Bloom Nutrition far more bearable. I noticed my energy increasing when I didn’t push off my math homework until nine and felt more motivated to do it straight after school.

Overall the pungent flavor that compared to Emergen-C was hard to get over, and I noticed minimal results, in regards to gut health and digestion. The only plus was the energy boost, but that alone wasn’t enough for me to consider purchasing a refill of Bloom Nutrition.

It’s Sunday November 26, 2023 at 8:30am and I am writing a review from my experience with drinking the Bloom greens and super greens digestion, bloating, energy mango flavor drink. I do not know the exact day I started drinking this, but I do know it’s been at least 2 months. At first I didn’t like it, but I didn’t use a blender to mix it. I read up on it more online and then started using a blender to mix it that I mix with just water and it taste a whole lot better. I guess it just blends a WHOLE lot better in a blender. I have tried Bloom with cranberry juice when I was on my period and it wasn’t great but not horrible. I also have tried to mix the powder with an immunity propel when I wasn’t feeling good one morning and no I do not recommend that combination at all. For me I have always had heavy periods and even strong cramps and just don’t feel great on my period, but this drink has helped for me at least.
