Aloha Hawaiian Bros. – New Hawaiian Bros. Restaurant Scheduled To Open On Ward Parkway

Hawaiian Bros., a Hawaiian-themed restaurant chain, announced on Sept. 22 that they will be opening a new location in the Ward Parkway Pavilion. Recently on Dec. 15, the chain announced that the restaurant would open sometime during the early months of the new year.

According to the Ward Parkway Center website, the restaurant will be on 8805 State Line Rd. and will be the brand’s seventh location in the Kansas City area.

The website also mentions that since the pandemic started, people began to frequent Hawaiian Bros. restaurants more often on account of their quick delivery times. Due to their newfound popularity, they began planning for the opening of two more restaurants. The other new establishment is scheduled to be located at 11600 Shawnee Mission Pkwy.

While the restaurant itself is still scheduled to open sometime early 2021, junior Brianna Welch has already made her way to one of the current locations and has nothing but positive reviews for Hawaiian Bros.

“I have always been pretty adventurous when it comes to my taste in food,” Welch said. “So when I heard about the new Hawaiian Bros. opening soon, I knew I had to go ahead and try it out before it opened. It’s now one of my absolute favorite restaurants to eat at.”

After hearing about the plans for the Ward Parkway location, Welch decided to try the restaurant’s College Square Shopping Center location on 12120 College Blvd.

“I had heard of them before, but I never thought of eating there because it didn’t receive a lot of attention as far as I had known,” Welch said. “That was until I began to see how popular it was becoming both online and amongst some of my friends. Once that happened, I became set on trying out the new Polynesian Huli Huli Chicken I’d been hearing about.”

According to Welch, all factors of the restaurant impressed her — so much so that she has become one of many regulars.

“In all honesty, it was less curiosity that brought me to the restaurant and more the hype surrounding it,” Welch said. “Regardlessly, I was pleasantly surprised with what I was met with. I had never had Polynesian food before, but once I had a taste there was no going back. Not to mention the service from all the kind employees was fast and enjoyable.”

According to the Ward Parkway Center website, the new location is set to also have two double-sided kitchen lines. Two will be exclusively for dine-in orders and the other two for to-go orders, which will get the food out to every customer quicker than the locations operating now.

As time continues to pass, Welch is patiently awaiting for the opening of the new restaurant and has high hopes for the new location.

“I am more than excited to get a location closer to my house, so I can bring my friends along to experience the same explosion of flavor I got to experience my first time going to one of the restaurants,” Welch said.
