Y Chromotones is a group started by Pembroke students that wanted a chance to sing acapella music. Seeking help, they went to their choir teacher Ken Foley, who took up directing the group in his free time. Through the years the Y Chromotones have done a number of covers ranging from choral tunes to songs heard on the radio. Due to graduation the members of the group change from year to year. The current members of this group are Shawnee Mission East graduates Will Carey and Brian Aitken, SME seniors Zach Colby, Peter Young, David Frizzel, and Jeremy Steiner, SME junior Kurt Jensen, SME sophomores Max Duncan, Mason Pashia, Cole Harrison, and Chase Ainsworth and Pembroke seniors David Kipke, Dana Huffer, and Arun Miryala.
