Varsity Lacrosse Beats Rockhurst

The Lancer Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse team earned their first win ever over arch rival Rockhurst on Tuesday. East’s team has faced Rockhurst in each of their 10 years as a club sport, and their previous closest finish was last season when the Lancers were defeated 13-6. Rockhurst had never lost to a team in the Kansas City area, until Tuesday when the Lancers came out on top 9-7.

Players from all grades stepped up for the Lancers, as sophomores Tommy Larson and Frank Esberg were able to combine for three goals. Junior Connor McGannon was the leading scorer, earning three goals of his own. This win has the team optimistic because Rockhurst is their highest ranked competition apart from out of state tournament play.
