“Cheerleading is great because of the fun atmosphere and the great people on the squad,” Issawi said. “Learning the dance for tryouts was really fun. I’m looking forward to competing and performing at pep assemblies.”

“I love cheerleading at the games,” Birkenmeier said. “I don’t enjoy anything about tryouts really because they are scary. Next year I’m looking forward to the games and the people.”

“I like getting the crowd involved during the game,” Gray said. “Being able to learn something new and getting to practice with everyone is a great part of tryouts. I’m looking forward to being on a team with all my friends and being able to cheer at the games for our senior year!”

“I like being able to support our school and stunt with my teammates,” Mier said. “In tryouts, I liked learning the dances and cheers from the seniors and getting to meet the new people trying out. “I love getting to work hard and perform in front of everybody every week and growing close to all of the other girls,” Seabaugh said. “My favorite part of tryouts is when they’re over because it’s a huge weight off my chest. I can’t wait to do more competitions and be more involved at East.”

“Cheer leading is most appealing to me because its not only a physical challenge but also a mental challenge because you’re throwing your body upside down,” Morgan said. “The trust you have to have within your team is extremely important. I dont have a favorite part of tryouts. It’s too nerve racking and stressful. However, whether its positive or negative I like the feedback from the judges. It helps me improve. I’m looking forward to an all new team and season. And just having fun!”
