The Whips, a band made up of four East juniors, one Northwest senior and a Scion sophomore, won the Battle of the Bands at the Roxy on August 17th. Out of the five bands performing, only two would advance to the next stage which could lead to performing at the Providence Medical Amphitheater. The Whips and fellow teenage band, Quite Frankly, both progress to the second round also at the Roxy on August 31st. The Whips are excited but nervous because getting to the final round requires votes and since August 31st is also Lancer Day, most of East’s student (a majority of the Whip’s fanbase) will be attending the first varsity football game. Being that they added two new members since their previous performance, the Battle of the Bands was more of a test to see how they would interact with each other. The set was strong and they gained enough votes to make it through. On August 31st, they will go back to the Roxy to compete again against various bands.
