Reports Say Sherman May Be Leaving East

The Lancers Head Football Coach Chip Sherman looks like he will not be around much longer. In the past couple of weeks Sherman applied and interviewed for the same position at Olathe Northwest High School.

A tweet from Dave Stewart of Metro Sports Kansas City last night stated ‘“SME AD Sam Brown told Metro Sports he has a PE and head football coach opening. Pending Olathe SB [School Board] approval, Chip Sherman’s the man at ONW.”

Sherman who was the Coach at East for four years compiled a 25-16 record. He took the Lancers to the playoffs the last three seasons and won East their first Sunflower League Crown in 44 years during the 2010 season.

Sherman’s departure has not been officially announced.
