On Tuesday night the boys’ soccer team took on their rivals, the SM South Raiders. The Lancers lost to South in a shutout of 3-0. This game makes the Lancers’ record this year 5-4-1, with the past two games losing in a shutout for the Lancers.
The first goal was scored against junior goalkeeper Michael Moedritzer from a free kick at the beginning of the first half. Towards the end of the first half, the Raiders scored again to make the score 2-0. As the second half started, the Raiders scored again against senior goalie Frank Esberg. This put the Raiders up 3-0, solidifying their win against the Lancers.
The Lancers never rallied back in the game. This isn’t the first time the Lancers had a hard time coming back from behind. The Lancers’ next game is Thursday, Oct. 3, against SM North.
