The annual SHARE garage sale will be held Saturday, Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The garage sale allows people to bring items to donate during the drop off dates. On the actual sale day, people around the community are invited to buy anything donated. Almost everything will cost a dollar. The day also has special events.
Families from Comanche elementary have the opportunity for free after 12:30. Also at 12:30, you can take a duffle bag supplied by SHARE which cost $10 for all you can fit in the bag.
According to SHARE sponsor Leslie Multer, the garage sale is less about the money raised and more about the people that buy it.
“It’s not about the money,” Multer said. “We’ll be lucky to make $1,500 this year. We do it as community service. People depend on us for clothing for their children. This year Comanche is able to shop for free. Also bags go to foster children, and coats to Project Warmth [another SHARE project]”.
All the SHARE chairs are required to attend drop-offs as well as the actual sale.
“We signed up to do SHARE chair,” chair Ashley Murrell said. “And it benefits us and is a good project for the community by helping someone who needs it and raise money for a good cause.”
The drop off dates were held Sept. 28 and Oct. 5 and 7.
