Seven Students Become National Merit Semifinalists

Last week, seven East seniors were announced as National Merit Semifinalists. The honor is based on the PSAT test, which is taken in the fall of junior year. To become a semifinalist, students must place in a certain percentile of overall state-wide test scores. From there, they will apply and compete with students nationwide to become National Merit finalists.
