Icy conditions forced administrators to cancel school on Monday, Jan. 6. This precautionary measure was taken due to dangerously low temperatures and heavy snow fall. The district is unsure whether more closings throughout the week will be necessary.

The honey bee created an upset by not only beating the elephant in the first round but also defeating the Flame Bowerbird in the second round of the animal tournament. Wilkerson ended up winning the tournament in her IB Biology class with 82 points out of the possible perfect bracket 128.
“I did get into it and I looked up every single animal, and the how the weird battlefields worked or whatever the habitat was,” Wilkerson said. “Most of it was just applying some logic but [the March Mammal Madness tournament] was a fun and easy way to get some extra credit.”
