Recap: Girls’ Basketball vs. Olathe North

In a Friday night matchup against the 1-6 Eagles of Olathe North, the Lancers gained an early lead to achieve an efficient 34-19 victory.  The Lancers were ahead 11-3 at the end of the first quarter.

After a quick start, the team maintained a high intensity level, utilizing a full court press  to create turnovers in a notably physical game.  By the end of the third quarter, East expanded its lead to 17.

Much of the credit for the big lead goes to the Lancer defense that effectively blocked shots and forced turnovers for the entirety of the game.

The standout player of the game was senior Molly Ross with numerous blocks in the paint and consistent success from the post on offense.

In the fourth quarter, East relaxed the full court press and held on for a 15 point victory.  The Lancers are now 4-5 with their four wins all coming in their last five games.
