After the big Rockhurst win last Friday, Coach Shawn Hair expects nothing less for the game tomorrow night. At 7 p.m. in the East gym, the Lancers will take on Olathe North, who are currently ranked as the 35th best team in the state of Kansas. Players like Alonzo Williams, averaging 16 points per game, have helped Olathe North has made a name for themselves
“Alonzo is really good, but I think their best player is RJ Smith,” Hair said. “They have a double threat kind of thing going for them, they also have Kenny Byers in that mix, he’s also very good.”
According to Hair, Olathe North is a talented rebounding team, which has been the focus of Hair’s practice this entire week. Players like Byers, Smith, and Williams are all strong offensive rebounders. Olathe North has not been a good shooting team this year, which means that East’s players need to keep them away driving the lane.
“We need to execute some things a little better and not make some crucial turnovers, we have to take care of the ball and execute a little better over the course of the game,” Hair said.
