Photo Story: Lancers Support Cougars

On Monday, August 19, students wore orange to school to show support for the SM Northwest community after SM Northwest sophomore Ovet Gomez Regalado passed away following a medical incident during football conditioning.

    As a Northwest student, we're so grateful for East's support. This time has been difficult for our school community, but knowing that East is willing to step up in Ovet's honor has been encouraging.
    I can look up in our lunch room and see the banner your school made for us – it makes me proud to be a Shawnee Mission student.

Saving the best for last, senior Paige Bean is entering her final year on staff as the Head Print Photo Editor. Paige has been on staff since her freshman year and taking photos since she was born, thanks to her father. When she’s not in the journalism room, Paige is the Student Body President, a member of Kemper Teen Arts Council, President of the Just Like You Films Youth Advisory Board, and more. Paige hopes to study filmmaking next year and continue creating media. »
