East orchestra students are taking their biennial trip to Philadelphia this Thursday. They will perform at a concert hall for a judge who is the guest conductor for the Philadelphia Orchestra. During their free time, they will visit various art museums and historical sights, like the Liberty Bell. There will also be a duck tour, in which students will get to ride down the river in a vehicle that doubles as a boat and a car.

Junior viola player Caroline Olson is excited for the duck tour. She’s also eager to learn from the conductor and connect with other orchestra students that she wouldn’t talk to otherwise.

“I just want to have some quality bonding time and meet some of the little ones,” Olsen said.
Students will return to Kansas City Sunday afternoon.
