New in Corinth: Va Bene Italian Eatery takes Urban Tables spot in Corinth Square

Shortly after the permanent closing of Urban Table, a new Italian restaurant called Va Bene Italian Eatery, founded by Whitney VinZant, will take its place.

According to the Shawnee Mission Post, Va Bene will serve lunch and dinner, with brunch offered on the weekends. The menu will consist of classic Italian dishes such as homemade pastas, fresh fig and prosciutto pizza.

VinZant recently bought the neighboring restaurants from the Bread and Butter Concept restaurant group. VinZant now owns Taco Republic, BRGR and Va Bene, which will all be within 300 feet of one another.

VinZant said in a recent press release that Va Bene will be designed with “a bright, clean and fresh interior.” They’re hoping this space will be family-friendly and appeal to all age groups.

While they’re excited to experience Va Bene, sophomore Matthew Hendrickson and other East students were sad to see Urban Table leave the Corinth community.

“I used to go to Urban Table with my family at least once a month because it was my grandma’s favorite restaurant,” Hendrickson said. “Going to [Urban Table] became a tradition in our family. I am excited to try Va Bene, but I don’t think our tradition can live on because it just isn’t the same.”

In the press release, Corinth Square’s senior Vice President landlord, Wright Sigmund, said that he believed Va Bene will enrich Corinth’s community and is confident that the community will love it.
