The 80th semi-annual Lobster Landing will take place at East this Saturday, benefitting the International Club.
Live lobsters from Maine will be flown to Kansas City International Airport, and then parent volunteers will transport the lobsters to East. The lobsters will be available for pickup from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the fourth floor hallway. In addition, lobster bibs, cracker pliers and forks will be sold.
The International Club is a staple at East, which focuses on helping students experience different cultures through the exchange student program.
“The club provides scholarships for East students who wish to study abroad,” International Club sponsor Brenda Fishman said. “It also pays for yearbooks, activity fees, cap and gown fees and incidentals for the international students who are attending East.”
Order forms for the Lobster Landing were to be received by Oct. 13, and late orders will not be accepted.
