The Lancer Boys’ Basketball team won their third game of the season tonight 62-53 against the Shawnee Mission North Indians. North came out strong, with shooters like Sean Wilkes and Austin Danner giving them the early lead. However, the Lancers bounced back thanks to the three-point shooting of sophomore Vance Wentz and junior Andy Hiett.
George Brophy went out of the game and into the locker room in the early second half, due to an apparent injury to his right ankle. Sophomore Billy Sutherland got his first chance on the varsity floor. Brophy would later return.
By halftime, the score was 27-27. North lead by seven going into the fourth quarter. Their 2-3 zone gave the Lancers some trouble, but Schneider was still able to work in the post, scoring 18 points.
