Kansas HS basketball historian to sign books at Fridays’ game

SM East will host a book signing fundraising event on Friday, Jan. 15, from 5 to 9:30 p.m., in conjunction with the Shawnee Mission East vs.Shawnee Mission West basketball game.(signing will be in the Gym Foyer ) Former SM East Lancer, Rich Mullen, will be signing copies of a new book titled, Club 50: The history of 50 Point Single Game Scorers in Kansas High School Boys Basketball History. Mullen is a featured player in the book, which highlights his 51-point scoring achievement during a single game in 1979 for the Lancers. His story, along with those of 71 other Kansas players, is included in the book. Joining Mullen at the event will be the book’s author Steven Michael Farney. During the event, five dollars from the sale of each book will be donated the school.
