Joseph Cline’s Summery Fall Playlist

Paris – Magic Man

I actually heard this song last week, but its upbeat, alternative vibe has kept it on my radar ever since. If you’re looking for a funkier tune, give Paris a listen.

Elevate – St. Lucia

The Chipotle Cultivate Festival: home to searing heat, free burritos and, most importantly, St. Lucia. When I heard them perform Elevate live, I hadn’t heard the song before, but their energetic performance inspired me to look it up after the Festival. Thank God I did.

Shot at the Night – The Killers

This song’s percussion and hypnotic synthesizers speak for them selves. Not that I wouldn’t want to listen to Brandon Flowers, lead singer, voice, though. Upbeat and inspirational, this song suits any sort of alternative playlist.

Walking on a Dream – Empire of the Sun

I heard a remix of this song first. Maybe it was the catchy beat or lead singer Luke Steele’s falsetto, but I decided I needed to hear a non- Wiz Khalifa version of this song. Great add to any uplifting playlist.

St. Croix – Family of the Year

Another inspirational song, and the only Family of the Year song I’m familar with, St. Croix has a summery, feel-good tune.

Sun – Two Door Cinema Club

Two Door Cinema Club always puts me in a good mood, no matter where I am. Sun continues to brighten up my day, and this playlist.

Pompeii – Bastille

An oldie, yes, but a classic with a sort of empowering feel to it. Anything Bastille is liberating, but Pompeii tops all their songs.

Electric Feel – MGMT

The tone of this song is, well, must I even say it? MGMT never fails to electrify a playlist.

Houdini – Foster the People

After Foster the People’s breakout song, Pumped Up Kicks, took our radios by storm, I decided to look further into the band’s music. I heard this song in 2011 and its been my song of choice for cruising down Mission Road ever since.

The Sunshine of Your Youth – Cheerleader

I found this song over the summer when 96.5 The Buzz was playing new songs. I had know idea what it was but it surely caught my attention. I remembered as many lyrics as I could and googled it when I got home. Im not exactly what it is a about Cheerleader that I like, but there is surely something that makes me want to keep listening again and again.

Circle Lines – The Lonely Biscuits

Although missing a funky, futuristic feel like the latter, Circle lines is a raw, alternative rock song I play in my cruising anywhere in my Jeep.

Joseph Cline

Senior, Co-Assistant Print Photo Editor Joseph is an interesting young man who enjoys blowing stuff up, just for the fun of it. A lot of his time is spent at Chipotle, only until his wallet is empty where he then finds ways to make it big. A few of his many talents include, and are not limited to, sarcasm, the ability to recite his ABC’s backwards in under 6 seconds, and whipping every time he makes a new friend. »
