For all sophomore students interested in joining the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, there will be an informational meeting coming directed by Monique Goodeyon. The meeting will be held on Wed. Nov. 5. According to math teacher Jennifer Horn, the meeting will cover all the basic information about IB, including courses, course info and signup information.
The decision to join IB will be required much earlier this year, in an attempt to encourage students to research the decision and stick with the program for both years.
“We want students to get everything they need to know, so they can make the decision to join IB if they wish,” Horn said.
The IB program is a set of classes that are designed to challenge students, and to help prepare them as much as possible for college.
Students who decide to take IB will complete and test in six IB courses. They will also write an extended essay of independent research which is guided by a faculty mentor and complete 150 hours of creative, action, and service hours.
