On Oct. 15, Tommy Dreyer and Logan Lowrey were named as the Homecoming King and Queen for the class of 2021. Here’s a Q&A about their thoughts on the night:
Tommy Dreyer:
Q: How did you feel when you first saw that you were nominated?
A: “I was a little surprised, but it was a nice feeling. It’s always nice when your peers look at you in a positive way.”
Q: Were the moments leading up to the announcement agonizing?
A: “I really just didn’t expect to win, I would’ve been happy for whoever won. It was really more of an enjoyable thing.”
Q: Why do you think people voted for you?
A: “It was kind of a unique situation because I came out as openly gay over the summer, but no matter what your peers looking at you in a positive way and thinking highly of you.”
Q: What were you most looking forward to?
A: “Just getting to see people honestly, so that was nice.”
Q: What was your favorite part of the night?
A: “Definitely afterwards when everyone was taking pictures and having a good time.”
Logan Lowrey:
Q: How did you feel when you first saw that you were nominated?
A: “I was surprised and was like ‘oh god now I have to buy a dress.’”
Q: Were the moments leading up to the announcement agonizing?
A: “[There] was no pressure. I really just wanted to have fun and make a good memory.”
Q: Why do you think people voted for you?
A: “People say that I inspire them so I guess that’s why.”
Q: What were you most looking forward to?
A: “Seeing my band members and seeing all the other students.”
Q: What was your favorite part of the night?
A: “Well I wasn’t expecting to be homecoming queen.”
