The Lancers varsity wrestling teams attended the Paola Invitational Tournament hosted by Paola High School on Jan. 24. There were 10 mats set up across three gyms to accommodate 15 schools with both boys’ and girls’ teams. Matches began at 2 p.m. Sophomore Caleb Roberts placed third in the 132-pound weight class. Junior John Gagen won the 157-pound weight class. Junior Noah Jewell placed fourth in the 165-pound weight class.
The boys varsity wrestlers will attend their next invitational on Friday, Jan. 31 at 3 p.m. at Grandview High School. The girls varsity team will attend their next tournament on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 9 a.m. at Washburn Rural High School.
