The varsity volleyball team played in their quad on Saturday, Sept. 9, facing against St. Joseph Central, St. Pius X and Staley High School. In the St. Joseph match, the Lancers won 25-17 for the first set and 25-9 in the second set, winning 2-0. In the St. Pius X match, the Lancers won 25-15 for the first set and 27-25 in the second set, going into overtime and winning 2-0. In the Staley High School match, the Lancers won 25-15 for the first set and 25-23 for the second, also going into overtime and winning 2-0. The Lancers current record is 7-2, putting them in 7th place in the KS 6A class, 46th place in Kansas and 23rd in Kansas City. The team is also on a streak of 5 wins. The varsity volleyball team’s next game will be a triangular on Thursday, Sep. 9 at 5:00 p.m. at Lawrence High School.

As a fourth year harbinger staffer, senior Mason Sajna is excited to be a leader on staff this year as a Video Editor, Photo Mentor and Equipment Manager. When he isn’t in the J room editing a video or trying to find some tripod piece, Mason is running as a varsity track and cross country runner and is in five AP classes. When things finally slow down, Mason likes to spend his free time with his friends or just hang out at home. »
