Senior goalie Carson Hull had a shutout in the boys varsity soccer team’s win over Olathe North on Thurs, Oct. 9. The Lancer’s first goal of the game came three minutes in on a header from senior Owen Andrews. Twenty minutes later senior Stephen Hlobik scored from the top of the goalie box, bringing the score to 2-0, which remained the score at halftime. With 25 minutes left in the second half,senior Hudson Bennish took a free kick from near midfield. Bennish’s kick went through the hands of the Olathe North goalie and in the goal, giving the Lancers a three goal lead. With less than 20 minutes left in the game, the Lancers scored two more goals, on short-range shots from senior Henry Wallace, and junior Miles Attig, making the final score of the game 5-0. The boys varsity soccer team’s record is now 6-2-1.
The team’s next game will be against Lawrence High School at the Shawnee Mission Activity Center on Tuesday, Oct. 14. at 7:00 p.m.
