In their last game of the season and before the Halloween weekend, the varsity football team was defeated in their playoffs game against SM Northwest on Friday, Oct. 27. The first quarter began with three points being scored by the Cougars, setting the score at the beginning of the game to 3-0 with the Cougars in the lead. After the Lancers were able to score a touchdown and field goal, the second quarter ended with the Lancers in the lead with a score of 7-3.
During halftime, SM Northwest’s band performed. During the third quarter, the Cougars were able to make two touchdowns and one field goal, ending the quarter with the score being 16-7 in favor of the Cougars. During the fourth quarter, the Lancers scored one touchdown with a successful field goal, upping the score to 16-14; with the final score of 17-14 concluding the game. East spectators were encouraged to wear their halloween costumes, with many showing up in them. This game concludes the boys varsity football team’s season with an overall record of 3-6.

As a fourth year harbinger staffer, senior Mason Sajna is excited to be a leader on staff this year as a Video Editor, Photo Mentor and Equipment Manager. When he isn’t in the J room editing a video or trying to find some tripod piece, Mason is running as a varsity track and cross country runner and is in five AP classes. When things finally slow down, Mason likes to spend his free time with his friends or just hang out at home. »
