The first quarter started with Olathe West receiving the ball and scoring an immediate touchdown after three minutes of play. On the first play of the Lancers’ opening drive, senior quarterback Jack Reeves suffered a knee injury that forced him to sit out the rest of the game.

Four minutes into the second quarter, Kopp ran in a touchdown on third-and-goal. Olathe West regained possession and scored again with six minutes left in the half, the Owls then lead 21-7. Kopp answered with another rushing touchdown before the Owls connected on a deep pass to end the half ahead 28-14.

Early in the fourth quarter, Kopp added his final rushing touchdown of the night. The Lancers stopped the Owls on a fourth down but later threw an interception, setting up an Olathe West touchdown with less than a minute remaining.
