Gallery: Varsity Football Falls to Olathe South 27-20

The Lancer varsity football team faced Olathe South at ODAC for their last game of the 2024 regular season on Friday, Oct. 25. With no touchdowns in the first quarter scored by either team, Olathe South scored the first touchdown in the second quarter followed by a passing touchdown to make the score 14-0 at halftime. In the third quarter the Lancers scored three touchdowns with two successful points after touchdowns, making the score 20-20 at the end of the fourth quarter, pushing the game into overtime. In the first period of overtime, the Falcons scored a touchdown with a successful point after, finishing the game with a seven point lead on the Lancers. The Lancers defeated the Lawrence High School Lions on Nov. 1, 28-14, for their first playoff game.

The team is scheduled to play their next playoff game against Gardner Edgerton on Friday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. at Gardner Edgerton.

Sophomore Simon Shawver is excited to be entering his first year as a photographer for the Harbinger. Outside of taking pictures Simon loves playing baseball, going to the gym, fishing, being with family and friends, and watching as much football as possible. »

Senior Caroline Black is starting her first semester on Harbinger staff. She is a first year photographer and is very excited for the year. In school she dances on the Varsity Lancer Dancer team and outside of school she hangs out with friends and family and works. She is looking forward to shooting school events and activities and getting to be a part of the Harbinger. »
