Gallery: Varsity Football Falls to Gardner Edgerton 42-7 on Lancer Day

Lancer Day marks the start of football season. In the game, one touchdown was scored by junior Charlie Johnson and an extra point by senior Ryan Dehan in the last seven minutes of the fourth quarter. At the end of the first half, the Lancers were down 35-0. During halftime, the Lancer Dancers and band performed a new piece titled “Door 13.” At the end of the third quarter, East was still down 42-0. In the end the Lancers fell to Gardner Edgerton 42-7.

The Lancers are scheduled to play their next game on Friday, Sept. 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the SM North Stadium against Olathe East. This game will also be the band senior night.

Junior Will Griffith is starting his third year as a photographer on staff as an assistant photo editor. When he's not scrambling to edit photos or check galleries, he is most likely on the soccer field in goal or the football field kicking and punting. Will loves spending his Saturday mornings watching premier league games and then watching college football the rest of the day. Will is excited to start the new challenge of an assistant photo editor and ready for the new role. »
