Gallery: Varsity Football Defeats SM West 57-14

Varsity boys football defeated SM West this past Friday, Sept. 30. At the beginning of the first quarter, the Lancers scored a touchdown by senior CJ Leonard giving East a 7-0 lead; only a few minutes later, the Lancers scored a second touchdown by senior Cole Clesi. SM West scored a touchdown to end the first quarter with a score of 14-7. With 7 minutes remaining in the second quarter, East scored their third touchdown of the night. Within the last few minutes of the first half, the Lancers had a safety and scored two more touchdowns, ending the half with a score of 37-7. The Lancers had two quick touchdowns at the beginning of the second half. With the immense score gap, both teams put in their bench players. Both teams scored another touchdown, resulting in a 57-14 Lancer victory.

The next varsity football game is on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. against Olathe Northwest at CBAC.

Senior Lydia Coe is entering her second semester on staff as a photographer, and is excited to apply her new skills that she has learned in Dallas. Some other things Lydia is a part of are SHARE, DECA, National Honors Society, National Charity League and one of the new managers of East’s coffee shop, Columbia Brew. In her free time, you would catch her nannying, hanging out with friends, listening to music, going on walks or hosting at the South Plaza Mission Taco Joint. Lydia is very excited to see what this new semester holds. »
