Gallery: Varsity Football Defeats SM West 40-7

Holding the lead the entire game, the Lancers defeated the SM West Vikings 40-7 on Oct. 10. Junior Jack Reeves and senior Henry Nelson scored rushing touchdowns in the first quarter, with both being followed by good kicks by senior Calvin Duske. In the second quarter, Reeves rushed for another touchdown but the kick was missed. 

During halftime, the SM East Marching Band and Lancer Dancers performed their Senior Night routine.

With eight minutes to go in the third quarter, Reeves passed for a touchdown to sophomore Gus Kettler, with the kick being missed. Towards the end of the game, senior Henry Nelson made a rushing touchdown and junior Vince Kopp made a pass to senior Brooks Moore for a touchdown with both kicks being good. With two minutes left in the game, the Vikings made a 58-yard rushing touchdown and a good kick, scoring their only points of the game.

The Lancer's next game is on Friday, Oct. 18 against the Olathe East Hawks at SM North at 7 p.m., which will also be senior night and the middle school band night.
