Gallery: Varsity Football Defeats Olathe Northwest 23-14 on Senior Night

Looking to extend a two-game winning streak, the Lancers faced off against Olathe Northwest at the SM South stadium on Friday, Oct. 6. Before the game, seniors were recognized with their families for Senior Night.

The first score of the game was a defensive safety, putting the Lancers up 2-0. Before halftime, senior Luke Pearcy got a 1 yard touchdown, bringing the score to 9-0 with an extra point from senior Ryan Dehan.

During halftime, the Lancer Dancers and the East Band performed their final “Door 13” show of the season.

In the third quarter, junior Nate Phillips scored a touchdown after rushing 4 yards and Dehan made the extra point, making the score 16-0. In the fourth quarter, junior Henry Nelson scored a touchdown after rushing 1 yard and Dehan made the extra point, extending the Lancers lead 23-0. Olathe Northwest scored two touchdowns late in the fourth quarter. The final score of the game was 23-14. Following the game, the Lancer Dancers and East Band wrapped their flags, instruments and bodies with lights to perform “Door 13” for their annual Glow Show.

The varsity football team’s next game will be on Friday, Oct. 13th against SM Northwest at the SM Northwest stadium.

When he's not scrambling to edit photos or check galleries, he is most likely on the soccer field in goal or the football field kicking and punting. Will loves spending his Saturday mornings watching premier league games and then watching college football the rest of the day.
