The top two scorers for East were senior Noah Kurlbaum with 32 points and junior Tony Friend with 18 points. The top two scorers for South were seniors Skyler Rhoads with 26 points and Jake Potthoff with 18 points. At halftime of the game the Varsity Lancer Dancers debuted their hip-hop routine they will be competing with at Nationals in February. Each school’s student section had a designated theme for Tuesday’s game. East’s was ‘Fiesta’ and South’s was ‘80s Workout’. “Everybody played so well… everybody played together. It was a special moment because I’ve been playing these kids since elementary school so it was just cool to be able to beat them and have everybody play their best game. Everybody came out feeling like they did something for the team,” Kurlbaum said. “That front row always goes crazy so it’s always really fun. Also being able to interact with the crowd, I’ve never really done that before so it was really cool.”
