On a cold, rainy day, Student Council members decided to complete the challenge of getting one of their members over a 12-foot wall, even after their guide warned them that the last group to attempt the wall ended with the person failing to get over the wall and falling on top of the guide. StuCo successfully sent many members over the wall by communicating and pushing members up the wall while other members pulled from the top of the wall.
For the first time in several years, StuCo went to TimberRidge for their annual Retreat. The past few years the retreat has been at the district CAA building. The executive board, class officers, class representatives, committee chairs and class sponsors attended the field trip on Friday, Oct. 27. StuCo sponsors Brenda Fishman and Chanelle Dieckmann planned the retreat day. To start the day, StuCo members met in Ms. Fishman’s room to pack sack lunches before loading onto the bus around 8:40 a.m. At TimberRidge, the council split into groups based on committees- charity, parliamentary, social, special events and public relations. From there, three separate groups were set for the day. StuCo completed team building challenges with blocks of wood, ropes, wires, walls as high as 12 feet and a 5-foot high platform. StuCo headed back to SM East around 1:45 p.m.
