In their second meeting, STEM club discussed cell size and relativity of cell parts. Led by juniors Gretchen Raedle and Pacey Salzman, the group used agar, which is a gelatinous material derived from algae, to demonstrate the ratio of a cell's volume to the amount of cytoplasm. They took the small, blue cubes and put them in cups of vinegar until the agar turned clear.
