Gallery: SM East places second and third in the Districts Track and Field Meet at SM North

The SM East varsity & junior varsity Track and Field Team competed in districts against SM South, SM North, SM West, and SM Northwest at SM North on Friday, April 15. Overall, the boys scored second in the meet, where they scored 97 points. The girls scored third in the meet with 67 points. On the boys side, SM North got first, SM Northwest got third, SM South got fourth, and SM West got fifth. On the girls side, first place was given to SM South, second place was given to SM Northwest, fourth place was given to SM North, and fifth place was given to SM West. Districts was the junior varsity team’s first selective event of the year, where only four runners were allowed to run per event.

The SM East junior varsity Track and Field team’s next meet will be on Thursday, April 21 at SM West at 3:45, and varsity’s will be at Free State at 3:00 on Friday, April 22.

As a fourth year harbinger staffer, senior Mason Sajna is excited to be a leader on staff this year as a Video Editor, Photo Mentor and Equipment Manager. When he isn’t in the J room editing a video or trying to find some tripod piece, Mason is running as a varsity track and cross country runner and is in five AP classes. When things finally slow down, Mason likes to spend his free time with his friends or just hang out at home. »
