Tonight, the second annual Restart the MusiKC charity event was held at Country Club Christian Church. Various students from the Kansas City area came to sing and play instruments, with a band or as a solo act. Shawnee Mission East students such as Iris Hyde, Andrew Carter, Reagan Flora, Christian Kennedy, and Kylie Ledford took the stage to perform for the audience. There was even an impromptu performance by east alumni Charlie Jensen.
Restart KC, a charity organization to help the homeless, teamed up with East’s share program to put on this event. The goal was to bring awareness to homelessness, and raise money for the organization. All of the proceeds go directly to Restart KC to help provide shelters, counseling, and more to homeless teenagers.
