Gallery: Lancer Day Parade

Lancer Day is a yearly tradition that typically falls on a day towards the end of August or beginning of September. This year, Lancer Day took place on Thursday, Aug. 31, and began at 1 p.m. Each year, the students of SM East dress up and march down Mission Road. The overall theme of the parade this year was Lancer game day. Sports, clubs, grades and activities all dressed up and decorated a float to fall under the category of video games. The route ranges from SM East all the way to the Shops of Prairie Village. Once everyone arrived to the Prairie Village Shops, a pep rally immediately broke out and speeches began from student body president senior Jack Kessler, Principal Peres and the mayor of prairie village Eric Mikkelson.

Following the parade, the Lancers will play Gardener Edgerton in their first football game of the seasons on Thursday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m.
