Gallery: Lancer Dancers Innovative Showcase

On Friday, Nov. 3, and Saturday, Nov. 4, the JV and Varsity Lancer Dancers performed their Game Day routines at the annual Innovative Showcase. Nine schools attended the showcase hosted by SME, each performing their own routine for judges to critique. Both Varsity and JV’s routines were a series of pom dances followed by hip hop with music, chants, and transitions in between. The showcase served as preparation for the Varsity Lancer Dancers’ performance at State in the coming weeks. The Lancer Dancers along with all other dance teams attended a one-hour cleaning session to receive feedback on the quality of their dancing. JV worked with Ovation Dance Academy teacher, Katie Otto, while former University of Kansas dance team coach, Raquel Thomas, critiqued Varsity.

The Varsity Lancer Dancers will perform their Game Day routine at State in Topeka on Friday, Nov. 17.
