Gallery: JV Football Defeats SM North 49-28

The JV football team scored seven touchdowns and 28 unanswered points to defeat SM North Bison on Oct. 13. The first points of the game were scored by the Bison on a passing touchdown. The Lancers then scored two touchdowns in a row, coming on passes from junior Owen Wantland to sophomores Max Sullivan and Lucas Keller. Wantland ran for another touchdown after that, but SM North quickly responded with a touchdown and a two-point conversion of their own, making the score at the end of the first quarter 21-14. The Lancers scored three more touchdowns in the second quarter, two rushing and one passing. The Bison were unable to score any points, making the score at halftime 42-14. In the second half, the Lancers scored first on a 20-yard touchdown pass to Keller. East wasn’t able to score again for the rest of the game, but held their lead despite SM North scoring two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. This win makes the Lancers’ record 5-1 with two games left in their season.

 The JV football team’s next game will be on Monday, Oct. 20 at Olathe West High School.
