Junior and Senior IB students started their Internal Assessments Design Labs in their science classes. Each subject in IB assigns an Internal Assessments for that specific class. Students created an original and unique design lab from scratch, relating to their interests in the science field.
Students did different experiments including health improvements, testing the relationship between concentration and voltage, and discovering which alcohol substances produces the most energy. An example of an experiment, junior Madeline Hlobik performed a lab that would improve her hydration during her cross country and track season. “I never know which sports drink to trust,” Hlobik explains, “or which one is more effective.”
