Gallery: Girls Varsity Tennis Defeats Shawnee Mission North 12-0

Shawnee Mission East’s girls varsity tennis team hosted Shawnee Mission North to play four doubles and eight singles matches on Monday, Sept. 12. East had eight girls play for their team, each girl playing one doubles match and one singles match. The Lancers won 8-0 in eight out of the 12 matches played. In all matches played, East never allowed North to win more than two games. The team for East’s match on Monday consisted of juniors, sophomores, and one freshman. The Lancers won all matches played, resulting in a 12-0 Lancer win against North.

The next girls varsity tennis match is on Friday, Sept. 16 at 3:30 p.m. The match will be played against St. Joseph’s Academy at Harmon Park.

Senior Kate Beaulieu is going into her third and final year on Harbinger as a Staff Photographer. When Kate isn’t taking sports photos, specifically lacrosse ones, she can be found babysitting, rewatching 10 Things I Hate About You, and hanging out with friends. During school hours, Kate is taking AP classes, playing tennis, being social media coordinator for the Freelancer, being a chair for Unified Teams, and playing varsity lacrosse. »

Senior Amelie Wong is entering her third and final year on staff as Harbinger’s first ever head online photo editor. Though she is still trying to figure out all of the responsibilities for her new role, she is so excited to see what new challenges this year brings. When Amelie is not in the J-room you can probably find her at Target buying more Red Bull or Starbucks getting her third coffee of the day. »
