Gallery: Girls Varsity Tennis Defeats Blue Valley High School 9-3

All seven varsity girls tennis seniors played singles and doubles for their Senior Night match play to defeat Blue Valley High School 9-3 on Tuesday, Sept. 27. To start, seniors Bryson Langford and Greta Stechulte won their doubles match 8-1. Doubles partners Lucy Little and Hadley Chapman followed with an 8-3 win. The final two doubles matches consisted of sisters Riley and Sydney Eck, and seniors Emma Paris and Lily Simmons. Both matches ended in a tie-break victory for the Lancers, winning 8-7. Moving on to singles, Langford and Stechschulte both won by 8-0. Lily Simmons, Emma Paris, and Riley Eck also picked up singles wins to defeat Blue Valley 9-3. The senior night ceremony followed all match play, and each senior’s dedication to the team was recognized by Coach Andrew Gibbs.

Playing against BV North, the girls varsity tennis team’s next match is to be played on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 3:30 p.m. at BV North.

Sophomore Madi Maupin is starting her first semester with The Harbinger as a photographer and artist. Along with The Harbinger, Madi is involved with STUCO, soccer and is the boys JV soccer manager. In Madi’s free time she enjoys being with her friends and family, playing soccer, going to the lake, driving around with her friends, and working. Madi is so excited for this upcoming semester and the new experiences and memories Madi will create. »
