Gallery: Girls Varsity Soccer Defeats SM South 4-3

The SM East Lancers beat SM South 4-3 this past Thursday, May 4. The Lancers have won 12 games so far this season. The Lancers were up 2-0 at halftime, but by the end of the second half, SM South had scored three goals causing the Lancers to be down 3-2. With time winding down, the Lancers were able to put one more goal through the net, making the score 3-3. In overtime, Shawnee Mission East scored on a throw by sophomore Sophia Beedle that bounced off of freshman Natalie Scobie’s head. The Lancers won the game in overtime 4-3 and now have a record of 12-2-0 overall and 10-1-0 in the Sunflower League.

The next time varsity girls soccer plays is on Tuesday, May 9 at Lawrence High School. This is one of their last two regular games of the season.
