Gallery: Girls Varsity Soccer Defeats Olathe South 4-1

Tied at halftime, the girls’ varsity soccer team defeated Olathe South 4-1 on Tuesday, April 18. The first goal was scored by freshman Natalie Scobie in the first minute of the game. For the rest of the first half, the Lancers held possession. In the last five minutes of the first half, there was a foul called on senior Cate Holzbeirelein in the goalie box which gave the opposing team a penalty shot. The shot was saved by goalie, senior Grace Hastert, but the Olathe South players followed the save and scored. During the second half, two of the three goals were scored by senior Reese Birch and one by senior Ashley Koch. The four goals were assisted by seniors Reese Birch, Ashley Koch, junior Margot Beaver, and sophomore Sophia Beedle. The girls’ varsity soccer team’s record is 8-2-0.

The girls’ varsity soccer team’s next game is on Tuesday, April 25th vs Olathe West High School at 7 pm and will be located at the Shawnee Mission Soccer Complex.
