Gallery: Girls Varsity Basketball falls to Olathe South 40-38

The girls varsity basketball team played Olathe South on Tuesday, Jan. 10, and after trailing them for the majority of the game, they were defeated 40-38. The kids who attended the little lancer cheer clinic on Wednesday, Jan. 4 were cheering on the sidelines along with the freshman, junior varsity and varsity cheerleading squads. Since the fall little lancers did not to get to cheer at a football game, this was the only opportunity to be on the sidelines with the cheerleaders this year. Junior Abigail Long says the energy at this game was different from others; “The energy was a lot higher for most of the game because of the amount of people in the stands due to the little lancer clinic”. At halftime, the Lancers were trailing Olathe South 22-17, but by the third quarter Olathe South had added to their lead and the score was 32-25. After becoming close to tying with Olathe South, the girls varsity basketball team fell short of two points and the game ended with the score of 40-38.

The next time these girls play is Friday, Jan. 13 against SM Northwest at SM Northwest.
